Some key figures include about 80 percent of all coronavirus deaths were nursing residents and more than 65,000 negative tests have come in.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The coronavirus pandemic still has a strong presence in Delaware County, with more than 9,100 people having been infected in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of Friday, the county has seen 9,171 cases of the coronavirus.

Of those 9,171 cases, 2,604 have been nursing home or long term care facility residents. That's 28 percent of all cases in Delaware County

Friday's data shows the county has a 75.46 coronavirus recovery rate.

Of all cases, 56.84 have been women and 43.16 have been men.

To date, 744 Delaware County residents have died from the coronavirus, 589 — or 79 percent — of coronavirus victims have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.

Twenty-eight of Delaware County's 62 nursing homes and long term care facilities have active outbreaks of the virus, according to Friday's data.

Of all Delaware County municipalities, Upper Darby Township has the most cases with 1,479.

Middletown Township has seen the most deaths to date with 156 total.

Yeadon Borough has the highest population percentage with the virus at 4.2 percent, with 482 of its 11,471 population having been infected.

Upper Darby, the city of Chester and Haverford Township have seen the most cases over the last 30 days with 213, 141, and 140, respectively.
