Seeking A Long-Term Substitute Teacher

LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHER | THE GRAYSON SCHOOL

Are you interested in a long-term substitute teaching assignment through June 2017? Do you excel at flexible and creative thinking? Are you a learner rather than a lecturer? Do you have excellent content mastery as well as solid teaching experience?

Then this may be the job for you.

You will plan and implement teaching strategies for a mixed-age, ability-grouped class of no more than 8 students while providing a safe and effective learning environment.

You will create and lead a responsive and challenging classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, while remaining sensitive to and aware of students from diverse backgrounds.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• A Pennsylvania Elementary Teaching Certificate, or private academic K-8 certification.
• A Special Education N-12 certificate, STEM-specific Secondary Teaching Certificate, or an advanced degree in Education.
• Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
• Sensitivity to and awareness to meeting the social and emotional characteristics of gifted children.
• The ability to clearly articulate evaluations and opportunities for our students and school in both written and spoken communication.
