Summer Fair Fun!
free community event that the 4-H program offers. It's a great event where the public can come to our educational farm.
2015 marks twenty eight years of 4-H educational programs at the Garrett Williamson Foundation property in Newtown Square and the 103th anniversary of 4-H in Pennsylvania. Celebrate with 4-H at the annual Delaware County 4-H Summer Fair, August 7-9!
The 4-H fair draws area families to the 4-H Farm for a series of activities, contests, displays, pony and hay rides, and animal showing. Located at 395 Bishop Hollow Road in Newtown Square, the fair also serves as a showcase for 4-H youth to present their completed projects from the past years. The fair begins on Friday at 4:00 p.m., with an open ceremony at 6:00 p.m. The 4-H Gymkhana Horse Show will begin promptly at 6:30pm in our outdoor horse ring. Our 4-H Cattle Show will start at 7pm and will include our dairy heifers and market beef projects. We will be having our annual silent auction which offers a variety of goods and services from local stores and businesses to those interested in bidding.
Saturday’s schedule begins at 9:00 a.m. with 4-H Market Hog showing, silent auction, various contests, pony rides, and Market Lamb Show. Our livestock auction begins at 2 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to tour the centuries-old barn and meet the resident horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, and cows. Refreshments will be available through various vendors. Additional snacks such as soft pretzels, snow-cones, fruit cups and baked goods will also be for sale. All proceeds benefit 4-H club programs in Delaware County.

Sunday will start 1pm with our 4-H Horsemanship Horse Show in our outdoor ring. Members ride to earn points based on their skill set. The 4-H Poultry Show will also be Sunday at 1pm. Closing our fair will be the Master Showman Competition. This is a challenging class for the 4-Hers since it will be a test to see who can show all the animals exhibited the best. Represent members will be champions of their species and asked to show a dairy heifer, market steer, chicken, pig, horse and lamb. Come check out the excitement!
