Sunoco Laying Off 94 At Newtown Square Office

The cuts come on the heels of a $3.3 billion deal to sell more than 1,000 Sunoco convenience stores to 7-Eleven.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – Nearly 100 people are being laid off from Sunoco's Newtown Square offices, according to a WARN notice from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

The notice said 94 people will be laid off from the former headquarters of the gas giant.

The layoffs are effective Oct. 13, according to the WARN notice.

NBC10 reports the layoffs come on the heel of a $3.3 billion sale of 1,100 Sunoco-owned convenience stores to 7-Eleven.

Sunoco's offices are located at 3807 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square.
