Surprise! Zoo Balloon Will Return Next Year, After All
The Philadelphia Zoo was reportedly able to negotiate the insurance issues.
Up in the sky next spring will be the same familiar sight: The 6ABC Zoo Balloon will be back for another year, The Philadelphia Zoo confirmed Wednesday.
The Zoo had said that this season would be the Zoo Balloon’s last, but after “tremendous public support and heartfelt requests from the community,” 6ABC said, the balloon will be back again in 2015.
“Complex” insurance negotiations were involved in the decision, 6ABC said.

Weather permitting, the Zoo Balloon flies every day from April to October. The Zoo Balloon first graced the Philadelphia skyline in 2002.
