Teens Stole, Crashed Vehicle After Fleeing In Delaware County: Police

Three teens were taken into custody after authorities said they fled a traffic stop and crashed a stolen vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Three teenagers are accused of stealing and crashing a vehicle in Delaware County recently, according to police and news reports.

Nether Providence Police said the incident began at about 2:56 p.m. Tuesday.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports Marple Police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction, but the vehicle sped off.

The vehicle later crashed on State Road in Upper Providence Township, police in Nether and Upper Providence said.

Three people, later identified as teens, fled the crashed vehicle, according to police.

Two were taken into custody in Upper Providence.

A third person remained at large as police searched the northern border of Nether Providence, police said.

That person was taken into custody at about 4 p.m. in Nether Providence, according to police.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports the vehicle was stolen from Upper Darby High School and the three suspects are juveniles.
