It’s Thursday, so it’s time to think about the weekend plans. If fishing is your thing, get into it hook, line and sinker. Take a shot at a soccer program for your kids. Or check out an entertaining high school musical. Marple Newtown Patch has a few ideas for fun times this weekend.
1.The Pajama Game

Why Go: Labor and love come together in Marple Newtown High School’s spring production. The story deals with labor troubles in a pajama factory, where worker demands for a raise are ignored. In the midst of this ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the new factory superintendent.

2. Soccer Shots
Where/When: ; Sat., March 26 at 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: The Soccer Shots program is offered to children ages three to eight. The kids learn soccer skills, as well as balance, coordination and agility. They also learn about teamwork, sharing and respect for their teammates.

3. Babysitter Training
Where/When: Gauntlett Community Center in Marple Newtown; Sat., March 26, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: This course, offered in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will teach kids, ages 11 to 16, the responsibilities and criteria needed to be a good babysitter. Participants will learn how to respond to an emergency, how to prevent accidents, how to supervise and play with children of different ages, and more. Participants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch to the class.

4.Go Fish
Where/When: ; Sat., March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: The big pond is fully stocked with hundreds of Rainbow Trout for Fishing Derby Day. The first four tagged fish caught win $25, and the biggest fish wins the $250 grand prize. There will be plenty of bait for sale, and you can either use your own rods, or rent them there. Refreshments will be available. For more details, visit Linvilla’s Web site.

5. Friday Night Live
Where/When: Community Arts Center in Wallingford; Fri., March 25, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Why Go: This unique concert series marries live music with live art. During each performance, featured artists create visual art that is inspired by the music. The featured musical artist is Dave Manley and His Trio, and the featured visual artists are Kasso, Luv1 and Delve. The event is BOYB, and light refreshments will be served.
