More Unlocked Vehicles Reported Broken Into, 1 Stolen In Newtown

Newtown Police are reporting even more thefts from vehicles and one stolen vehicle that were discovered Tuesday morning.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA – Newtown Township Police are now reporting more thefts from vehicles – and even a stolen vehicle – that were discovered in the township on Oct. 2 after initially reporting just two thefts from vehicles.

Police told Patch that there were eight additional thefts from vehicles found on Oct. 2.

After reporting the two thefts, police said they learned of seven thefts from vehicles on Arden Road, Sunset Boulevard, and on the 2600 block of Franklin Avenue.

All vehicles in question were unlocked, police said.

Police also said a vehicle on the same Franklin Avenue block was stolen. That vehicle had its keys left inside it and was unlocked, according to police.

Items stolen range from loose change to a laptop computer.

Police said whoever committed the crimes ignored all locked vehicles.

In addition, police said vehicles on Brittany Lane in Haverford Township were broken into.

The news comes a day after police reported a vehicle with its keys left inside was stolen from the 900 block of South Hunt Road in Newtown Square sometime overnight Monday into Tuesday.
