We invite you to come out to the Paoli Battlefield on Saturday, September 26th, from 11am to 4pm and enjoy this Family Fun event!! Enjoy our American Military Timeline with the help of our friends at Historical Military Impressions. Stroll through each impression and see how the soldiers dressed and what they carried into battle. Feel free to ask questions and learn about our brave fighting veterans.
Stop by and visit with Benjamin Franklin (aka Mike Kochan), as he shows you the experiments that Benjamin Franklin did in the 1700’s. Mike has built replicas of some of his experiments for the Franklin Institute, and the Franklin Court Museum, both in Philadelphia.
Noah Lewis will be there to share the story of Ned Hector, bombardier and member of the Continental army. He helped man the guns and Brandywine and was honored by Norristown naming a street Hector Street.
Visit and enjoy other historical sites as they explain their connection to the history and culture of the area. You’d be surprised how some of these sites were created and what they do to celebrate their special day at their site.
We are very happy to welcome back the USO which has helped support our troops all across the nation. Learn about the great programs they do to help our soldiers and their families.
We will have a food trunk or two to help satisfy your appetite while you soak in the history. We have other crafters, vendors, and others to help you spend the day with us.
To close out the day, we transition to our honor ceremony where we place wreaths at the gravesite of the 52 fallen men of the Battle of Paoli. We will do the wreath laying, firing salute, bagpipes, and taps to help honor these men, and all of our armed forces of the United States of America.

Saint Albans Circle

The Newtown Square Business Association, in partnership with Newtown Township and local business sponsors, is pleased to host the 4th annual Circle at Sundown, happening on Sunday, September 27th, from 3:00–7:00pm. The circle will be closed to traffic, and the event is free to attend, with food and beverages available for purchase. In addition, contributions of non-perishable food items, canned goods and full-sized toiletries will be collected for Kids Against Hunger United.&nbsp;
This year, the Circle at Sundown will feature an expanded beer garden by Troubles End Brewery, local food trucks, area restaurant menu items and lots of sweet treats. Luigi &amp; Giovanni’s will serve their delicious, authentic Italian fare and provide al-fresco dining for their patrons. Food trucks will offer a variety of family-friendly options such as classic American, barbecue, Asian and Mexican fare and we’ll enjoy desserts from the circle’s newest member, Sweet Spot Gelato &amp; Candy Shop.&nbsp;
There will be two featured live performances this year. Joining us for the first time will be singer and songwriter Brian Joslin, who can be seen performing around Delaware County and the Jersey Shore. Returning this year by popular demand is Faraway Guys, a local band that is a favorite at local brewpubs and other area venues in PA and NJ.&nbsp;
There will be plenty of children’s activities, lawn games, interactive chalk art displays, character appearances and face painting. Our local businesses in the area will also be well-represented at the event. Participating stores in the circle will be open for shopping as well.&nbsp;
As in previous years, the Circle at Sundown is dedicated to promoting sustainability and minimizing its impact on the environment. Local civic groups who are working hard to make Newtown Square and its surrounding communities more liveable will be on hand to share information and answer questions. The committee is also taking several steps to make the event as eco-friendly as possible by encouraging the use of compostable serving materials and reusing repurposed materials in the festival design.&nbsp;
Attendees are encouraged to join in the celebration of a more sustainable future! The fun kicks off at 3pm. Please note that there will be some seating available, but guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, especially if they plan to stay for the duration of the festivities. Alderfer Auction is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new satellite sales office in Wayne, PA, starting Wednesday, October 7th.
Located at 303 West Lancaster Ave, Suite 2C (above The UPS Store), the office will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins are welcome with a limit of two items. For larger collections, please arrange a dedicated in-home consultation. To schedule an appointment, email preview@alderferauction.com or call 215-393-3000.
The Wayne office will be led by Allyson Babcock, an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America with over 15 years of experience in the auction and appraising industry. A resident of the Main Line community with a background rooted in her family's decades-long antique business and a degree from Brown University, Allyson specializes in American Furniture, Fine Art, and decorative arts, providing USPAP-compliant appraisals for estate tax, insurance, and equitable distribution.
The new location invites the local community to bring in a wide variety of items for evaluation and consignment, including:

<h1>From Childhood to Independence: A Night at Longwood Gardens with Amigos de Jesús</h1>
In a country where poverty, limited educational opportunities and economic insecurity can leave young people with few choices for their futures, Amigos de Jesús is working to create another possibility: helping vulnerable children grow into educated, healthy and independent adults with the skills and opportunities to build their lives in Honduras.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Amigos de Jesús will bring that story to Longwood Gardens for Growing Together with Amigos, an evening celebrating the children and young adults of Amigos and inviting the greater Philadelphia community to become part of their journey.
Amigos de Jesús provides a safe and nurturing home for vulnerable children in Honduras, but its work does not end with providing a safe place to live. The organization walks alongside children from childhood into adulthood, providing education, healthcare, emotional support, faith formation, life skills and opportunities designed to prepare them for healthy, independent lives.
“Our goal isn't simply to care for a child today,” said Kelley Jackson, President and CEO of Amigos de Jesús. “We have to ask what success looks like when that child becomes an adult. Are they educated? Are they healthy? Do they have the skills and confidence to work, manage their lives and build a future within the realities of Honduras? That is the journey we are committed to.”
Guests attending Growing Together with Amigos are invited to enjoy Longwood Gardens throughout the day before gathering in the Fountain Room from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, stories and updates from Honduras, and a private illuminated fountain show.
The evening is designed not only to raise critical funds for the mission, but also to introduce new people throughout the region to Amigos de Jesús and the many ways individuals, families, schools, churches and businesses can become involved.
Tickets are $200 per person and include untimed admission to Longwood Gardens for the day, the evening reception and private illuminated fountain show.
