Woman Sought For Newtown Square Bank Robbery

The woman seen here came into Bryn Mawr Trust in Newtown Square, presented a demand note, and fled in a white Hyundai model car.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — A Newtown Square bank was robbed Monday and township police are asking for help identifying the suspect.

The robbery occurred at about 1:43 p.m. at Bryn Mawr Trust, 3601 West Chester Pike.

A woman gave the teller a demand note that implied she had a firearm, police said.

She left the bank in a white 2019 Hyundai Sonata or Elentra heading toward Saint Albans Avenue on West Chester Pike.

Police described her as a black woman with light skin, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. She was wearing traditional Muslim clothes, glasses, a baseball cap, open-toed sandals, and was carrying a small purse
