Delco SEPTA Stabbing Was 'Unprovoked', Police Say

Circumstances leading up to the incident remain uncertain.

MARPLE, PA — A woman who stabbed a victim on a SEPTA bus in Delaware County without provocation has been arrested, police said.

Lateefah Brown, 45, of Philadelphia, has been charged with attempted homicide and related counts.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 1 at around 5:50 p.m. at the Marple Crossroads shopping Center.

Circumstances surrounding the incident were not revealed by authorities, who described the attack only as "unprovoked."

The victim was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

Brown failed to post $1 million bail and was booked at Delaware County Prison.

A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
