Work Affecting Marple, Newtown Roads Next Week

A road in Marple and a road in Newtown will have travel restrictions next week due to two projects, according to PennDOT.

MARPLE-NEWTOWN, PA — Two projects will affect roads in Marple and Newtown townships next week, according to PennDOT.

Nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Bishop Hollow Road in Newtown Township for resurfacing operations

The restrictions will be in place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning Sunday, June 23, through Friday, June 28.

The affected area is between Ellis Avenue and Campus Boulevard/Stoney Brook Boulevard.

This mechanized patching work is part of an improvement project to repair and resurface 28 miles of state highway in Delaware County

Additionally, lane restrictions are scheduled on Sproul Road in Marple Township next week.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28 Sproul Road will have restrictions between Kent Road and Darby Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur.

The contractors' schedule is dependent on the weather.
