$1M In Grants Available For Delaware County Groups
The Foundation For Delaware County is launching its first competitive grantmaking cycle for nonprofits, government, and education groups.

MEDIA, PA – The Foundation for Delaware County launched its first competitive grantmaking cycle on Monday, April 30 and nonprofit, educational, and governmental groups can apply for grants now on the foundation's website.
Grants awarded through the new program will help foundation's mission and initial goals to improve the health and quality of life of children and families in Delaware County.
The foundation plans to award $1 million in grant funds in this year’s funding cycle with these program priorities:

- Children's Health and Nutrition;
- Maternity and Prenatal/Postnatal Care;
- Preventative Health Care;
- Opioid Addiction/Substance Use;
- Hospice and Home Healthcare Services;
- Strengthening the Nonprofit Community.
The Foundation for Delaware County will award grants of up to $50,000 per year to groups working in the above listed areas.
The average award is likely to be in the $10,000 to $25,000 range, according to the foundation. A limited number of multi-year grants will be awarded, as well.

Agencies located in the county – as well as agencies which address the needs of the most vulnerable populations, including families living in poverty, immigrants and non-English speakers – will be treated with higher priority, according to the foundation.
All grant proceeds must be used to provide programs and services in Delaware County.
Types of grants that will be considered include: general operating support, program or project support, capacity building, advocacy and awareness, capital expenditures, and endowment match campaigns.
Organizations may apply for more than one grant type and for up to three years in funding, though the maximum total awarded per agency will be $100,000.

Proposals are due on-line June 30 with awards to be announced by October 31.

Operating as the County’s community foundation, it is headquartered in Media with offices in Chester, Upper Darby and Springfield.
