DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — State and federal authorities teamed up to take two men into custody after they said the men trafficking 50,000 pure fentanyl pills from Arizona to Delaware County.

Attorney General Michelle Henry said Leroy Williams and Ryan Hofer, both of Tucson, Arizona, were arrested Monday in Ridley Township. The two are charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity, and criminal use of a communication facility.

Williams, who was on federal supervision at the time of arrest this week, and Hofer are both in custody in Delaware County on $800,000 and $500,000 bail, respectively. Their arrests were the result of a joint effort by Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

"These alleged traffickers were caught with enough poison to have caused devastation across the Commonwealth," Henry said. "Our Drug Strike Force and Bureau of Narcotics Investigations teams have seized hundreds of thousands of pure fentanyl pills so far this year, with each pill posing a catastrophic threat. I commend our law enforcement partners for surveilling this operation and making sure this cache of deadly pills did not reach the streets."

"The Pennsylvania State Police and our law enforcement partners work hard to keep the residents of Pennsylvania safe from dangerous drugs like fentanyl," said Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris. "I am proud of our partnership with the Office of Attorney General and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration as we collectively keep working to make Pennsylvania safer."
