800-Plus Pounds Of Food Collected By Delco Prison For Donation
George W. Hill Correctional Facility staff, contractors, and those from partnering criminal justice organizations donated the items.

THORNTON, PA — Hundreds of pounds of non-perishable foods were donated by George W. Hill Correctional Facility staff, contractors, and individuals from partnering criminal justice organizations.
According to Delaware County, Warden Laura K. Williams led the nearly month-long food drive this November to collect food for the community.
More than 800 pounds of food was collected, the county said.

The donations went to the St. Katharine Drexel Food Pantry, located at 1408 W. 2nd St., in Chester.
It will distribute the food to residents in need across the county.

The Holiday Food Drive is one of several efforts by the facility to re-establish connections with residents and stakeholders, be a good neighbor, and build trust among members of the community, the county said.
The Delaware County Council commended the entire George W. Hill Correctional Facility team for their contributions, including George Rhoades, Keith Heyward, Sarah Bowles, Nikki Miller, Katherine Miller, Dana Keith, WellPath, Captain McCarthy, Officer Wells and Officer Yates for providing their time and energy to make the Holiday Food Drive a success.
