Alleged Delco Serial Thief Surrenders To Police

Police said a man accused of numerous high-value thefts in the county that occurred over several months turned himself in Wednesday.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Authorities in Delaware County said the man accused of a string of thefts in the county has turned himself in to police.

Newtown Township Police said Ryan J. Weems-Johnson Sr, 40, of Linwood, turned himself in to Lower Chichester Police Wednesday on an outstanding retail theft arrest warrant stemming from a theft incident committed in their jurisdiction earlier this year.

Newtown Police said Weems-Johnson committed high-value thefts from numerous retail establishments throughout Delaware County over several months.

While Weems-Johnson is in the George W. Hill Correctional facility now, additional charges against him are pending, police said.
