AMLL Heading To District Championship Against Newtown-Edgmont
Aston-Middletown defeats Media 11-4 Saturday Night
After losing a tough and heated battle to Newtown-Edgmont Wednesday night 11-10, AMLL was sent to the loser's bracket to face Media Saturday night.
It only took 4 batters into the game before a long 2-hours and 45-minute rain delay.
But once the sun came out, so did AMLL's bats. After an RBI single in the top of the 3rd, Christian Reed was able to smack a three-run home-run to right field to give AMLL the 4-1 lead. Next pitch, BAM! A solo home-run off the bat of Roman Tozzi to center field gave them some insurance.

It was a close game going into the top of the 5th inning, being 7-4 with Aston-Middletown on top. But once again, Christian and Roman were able to come up clutch and seal the win by basically recreating the 3rd inning. Another back-to-back three-run shot by Reed, and a solo shot by Tozzi.
Nick Chelo and Sam Benvignati were able to close the doors in the 5th and 6th inning, beating Media of a final score of 11-4.

Aston-Middletown will now enter the District 19 Championship against rival Newtown-Egmont Sunday at 4pm, being played at Newtown-Edumont. But it won't be as easy as winning one game. AMLL will have to beat Newtown-Edumont two times as they don't have a lose in the tournament yet.
But don't think Aston-Middletown won't be able to pull of the two wins. The team has now scored a tournament leading 45 runs in just 4 games, and will now have all there pitching back for the game and possible second game on Monday. Christian Reed, Roman Tozzi, Sam Benvignati, Nick Chelo, and more are all available to pitch. Pitching was something they didn't have during their loss to NELL.
The AMLL team is going for their 3rd straight District Championship.
