MEDIA, PA — A heavy fire scorched a Media restaurant's kitchen early Friday, officials said.
The fire alarm went off around 2 a.m. at Peking Media, a Chinese and Japanese restaurant at 4 W State St.
Firefighters couldn't see any smoke or fire outside. But they forced entry and found heavy fire in the kitchen.
The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes, according to the Media Fire Company. The kitchen area sustained heavy damage.
Crews searched the apartments above while ventilating the building.
Peking Media didn't immediately respond to Patch's email seeking comment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
