NETHER PROVIDENCE, PA — Utility construction on Route 252 will lead to closures and detours for nearly six months, according to PennDOT.
From July 20 through Dec. 31, Aqua Pennsylvania will perform construction on Route 252 in Nether Providence.
The highway, locally known as Providence Road, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Drivers will be detoured to Route 320 (Providence Avenue), 22nd Street, Route 352 (Edgemont Avenue) and then Brookhaven Road.
Local access will be maintained at all times, PennDOT says.
Delays and backups may occur, so drivers should allow for extra time when traveling in the area, PennDOT says.
The work schedule is weather-dependent.
