HOUSTON — Delaware County native Ethan Pecko made his MLB debut Wednesday, striking out four to help the Houston Astros secure victory.
Pecko grew up in Ridley Park and graduated from Ridley High School in 2020.
In his major-league debut, the starting pitcher allowed two runs, three hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings in the Astros' 3-2 win against the Los Angeles Angels.
Pecko received a no-decision, but the Astros rallied with two runs in the fourth and 5 1/3 innings of shutout pitching by the bullpen.
Selected by the Astros in the sixth round of the MLB Draft, Pecko ranks as the team's ninth-best prospect by MLB Pipeline.
Pecko isn't the only Delco native in the majors. Aldan native Kevin McGonigle debuted with the Detroit Tigers this year and made the 2026 All-Star Game.
