The Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA) Brandywine Valley Chapter and the Brandywine Valley SPCA invite animal lovers, wine enthusiasts, and community supporters to experience the inaugural Paws in the Vineyard on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Penns Woods Winery, 124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, PA. The rain date is Friday, October 9, 2026.
This one-of-a-kind fundraising event offers guests an exclusive opportunity to stroll through Penns Woods Winery's private vineyard alongside adoptable rescue dogs from the Brandywine Valley SPCA. For one special evening, attendees can "check out" a shelter dog and enjoy a leisurely golden-hour walk through the winery's picturesque 15-acre fenced vineyard, including 11 acres of flourishing vines typically closed to the public.
Tickets include one glass of wine and are $35, with a portion going to each BVSPCA and the PRLA scholarship fund. They can be purchased at https://web.prla.org/events/Brandywine-Chapter-Fundraiser-Paws-In-The-Vineyard-1969/details
Following the vineyard walk, guests are invited to relax on the lawn with live music by acclaimed local musician Jason Ager, enjoy a glass of Penns Woods wine, and purchase dinner from local food trucks. Proceeds from the event will benefit both the Brandywine Valley SPCA and the PRLA Brandywine Valley Chapter Scholarship Fund, which supports students pursuing careers in hospitality and tourism.
"Penns Woods Winery is thrilled to open our vineyard gates for this unique experience that combines our love of community, wine, and animal welfare," said Raechel Kuehn, Sommelier and Hospitality Director at Penns Woods Winery. "There's nothing quite like walking among the vines at sunset, especially when you're helping a rescue dog find its forever home."
Throughout the evening, guests can explore the vineyard while learning about viticulture, winemaking, and East Coast terroir from Kuehn, who will be available to share insights into the vineyard and Penns Woods' winemaking process.
In addition to purchasing tickets, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the Brandywine Valley SPCA. High-need items include unopened dog and cat food and treats, toys, cat litter, Kongs, food puzzles, scratchers, fleece blankets, paper grocery bags, and other enrichment supplies.
Whether attending for the adoptable dogs, the wine, the music, or the scenic vineyard views, every ticket purchased helps create brighter futures for both rescue animals and hospitality students.
