5 People From 3 States Defrauded An Elderly Delco Resident Of Nearly $60K: Police

NETHER PROVIDENCE, PA — Five people from three states are accused of defrauding an elderly Delaware County resident of nearly $60,000.

The Nether Providence resident told police in May that their TD Bank checking account was defrauded of $58,600. The victim reported five fraudulent over-the-counter cash withdrawals and a fraudulent wire transfer that occurred between May 8-11, police said.

Police say they identified five suspects through search warrants of bank statements and surveillance footage from the five TD Bank branches where the withdrawals took place:

• Shakeem Wilson, 32, of Philadelphia, withdrew $4,980 from the victim's account at TD Bank in Upper Darby.
• Mustafa Midgett, 29, of Philadelphia, withdrew $5,000 at a Philadelphia branch.
• Kristina Oduaran, 26, of Newark, Delaware, withdrew $5,000 in Bear, Delaware.
• Brian Walden Jr., 35, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, withdrew $17,020 in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
• Robin Massing, 57, of Audubon, New Jersey, withdrew $9,500 in Cheltenham, Montgomery County. She then withdrew an additional $17,100 with a fraudulent check, police said.

Massing is wanted on eight separate arrest warrants for forgery, fraud and theft charges, along with failure to appear and probation violations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or North Carolina, police said Thursday.

Last week, Massing was accused of stealing funds from Media Little League after altering and cashing checks left in a mailbox. She has no prior connection to Media Little League.

Police didn't say how the Nether Providence resident's identity was stolen, or how the suspects collaborated.

The suspects were charged with theft, forgery, identity theft and related offenses. Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Gallard approved their arrest warrants on Wednesday.
