SEPTA Train Strikes, Kills Person In Delco: Officials

An investigation is underway, but no foul play is suspected, officials said.

DARBY, PA — A SEPTA train struck and killed a person Friday morning in Darby, authorities said.

The Wilmington/Newark Line train hit the person at around 7 a.m. on the tracks just north of Darby Station. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is underway, but no foul play is suspected at this time, said SEPTA spokesperson Joe Leonard.

The Wilmington/Newark Line is part of SEPTA's Regional Rail system. It extends from Delaware to Philadelphia, with stops in Delaware County.

The line was suspended, but service was restored later in the morning.
