Aug. 1—Well it is a windy day and the last set of 1/32 and 1/16 matches for the archers. Brady and Khatuna made it into the 1/16 bracket, but Jake had a disappointing first match. Brady was able to keep the match close but wasn’t able to capture a win. So that left Khatuna to see what she could do. Khatuna managed to more forward to the next day. Some of the other archers decided to use this day as a practice day even though they were finished. Some decided to meet up with family and see what London has to offer.

Aug. 2—It is the Women’s Day to finish the elimination round. Khatuna shot her 1/8 round and won. Now she has to shoot 1/4 and yes she won that, too. Now into the semi where it will determine if she moves on to the Gold medal match or the Bronze. Khatuna is now shooting for the Bronze. The match was going back and forth, but Khatuna fell short of bringing home a medal. Later that night we went for dinner and then just walked around the village. Tomorrow is the Men’s day, but we won’t be shooting.
Aug. 3—Got to sleep in and had the day to ourselves. Some met up with family and for me I went to the Nike house to get some more goodies. Jake and Khatuna got a whole bag filled with a whole lots of stuff: sneakers, shirts, another backpack, etc. as Mel, Kevin, Coach and myself just looked on. We did however get our warmer Nike rain gear. The food was really good at the Nike house and I was able to relax a little bit. Check out the pictures of the Shoe and Legs. Later that night we all headed to the USA House at 5 p.m. The boy’s and coach were picked up because coach was getting a special award called the Order of Ikkos. This award can be giving when a individual or team medals and they can thank a coach for their dedication and hard work. Coach Lee was very surprised. Some of us left and some stayed. Khatuna had an interview at 10:30 p.m. with BBC.
Aug. 4—Well, it was a very early morning. Coach Lee and Kevin (Medical Staff) had to catch the bus at 4:30 a.m. to head home. Yes, of course I went back to bed, but not for long. Had to get ready to go to the USA House for breakfast with the team and families. Guy put a slideshow together of our week at LORD’S. What great memories we have. The coaches were able to say a few words to the team and then the archers. What a great way to wrap up our Olympic experience shooting at LORD’S. After breakfast, I was able to join Mel and Julie’s family and toured the Tower of London. This is where the crown jewels are housed. I had a great time and it was awesome to see something other than an archery field. Came back to the village and helped Mel move out of the village. He was heading over to the hotel to meet up with his family. Went to bed early tonight. I was so tired.
Well that is all from London,
