Penncrest Graduate Publishes Debut Novel, In The Market For Murder
As a young girl, I imagined myself holed up in a New England cottage somewhere, typing away on my typewriter, losing myself to the click, click, click of the keys.

Penncrest graduate, D.M. Fichera, (Myers) has published her debut novel, In The Market For Murder, a murder mystery taking place in Philadelphia and the surrounding region.
Shortly after having her son, D.M. Fichera decided to start writing her murder mystery book. But this wasn't the first time she'd attempted a feat like this. "I remember writing my first novel when I was 12--I called it Mall Fright. Every night I would rush upstairs after dinner and write for hours. On paper. With a pencil." That particular book was lost to many moves and a lifetime of experiences, but the desire to write still stayed strong.

"For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a novelist. As a young girl, I imagined myself holed up in a New England cottage somewhere, typing away on my typewriter, losing myself to the click, click, click of the keys. My life took on a whole different direction but I've always been tied to writing in some form or another. When I had my son, opportunity and practice collided and I decided it was time to start doing what I loved."
In The Market For Murder is the first book of a planned series, where the adventures of Dylan Scarborough, a sassy female sleuth, include a pile of dead bodies.

D.M. Fichera has also written a paranormal/fantasy series starter, Shadow Stalker, which she will, "Work on getting out to the public when my editor gives me the stamp of approval. I'd like to give my readership a choice between the two genres."
