Roger Ricker Concert: "Fired Up!" Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Media Theatre

Come on out and have fun at "Roger Ricker In Concert: Fired Up!" on Aug. 16

The Media Theatre's Roger Ricker (that's me) will headline his annual summer concert on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

A fundraising event for , the concert this year is "Fired Up!" with the focus on classic country songs. Ricker will be joined in "Fired Up!" with several special guests including The State Street Miracles, JP Dunphy, Kaylan Wetzel, and members of the cast of "Rent, School Edition," Brianna Mazzola, Jack Cresenzo, and our newest Delco Idol Junior winner Gregory Smith.

Ricker will perform country songs ranging from those made popular by Loretta Lynn to the country-pop vein of Linda Ronstadt. The theatre’s Resident Music Director Tom Fosnocht will accompany Ricker on keyboard.

Personally, I hope you can make it to the show. Not just for me, but for the youth involved in the performance and the theatre itself. This is a fun night out, in which we relax a bit, have some fun, sing a few songs, and celebrate our professional music theatre. You will probably recognize most of the songs, like "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" (one of my all-time favorites, which I used to listen to constantly back in junior high school). Some of the songs you may not recognize as easily, but it's really about supporting The Media Theatre, our mission, and our educational aspects for young people who have a passion for what we do—music theatre!

We are Delaware County's only professional music theatre. We don't do what we do as a hobby, and those of us who are at the theatre practically live there day in and day out, doing what we love doing. This night is for all of us and it's about all of us--including Patrick Ward, our executive director, Artistic Director Jesse Cline, the entire staff, and our board of directors. We cannot do this without you!

Tuesday night Aug. 16 is a fun night for me to sing about a dozen songs interspersed with guest artists, such as Ted Harris and His Puppets and our State Street Miracles. It's really an annual PARTY--and we hope you are there to join in.

The concession stand and bar will be open, and as always we appreciate your support. So come on out, give us a big 'Yee-Haw!' and have some fun, country style, Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

None of us know what will really happen during the show. That's the FUN part of this FUNdraiser!

Ricker was recently seen in Annie as Bert Healy and this past season’s production of Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical. "Roger Ricker In Concert: Fired Up!" starts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at The Media Theatre. Tickets are available by calling 610-891-0100 or online at mediatheatre.org
