Spanish Students Arrive in Media

A group of 13 Spanish teens, on a program organized through the Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI), arrived July 2 to begin their four-week adventure.  They are staying with volunteer host families in the Media area, and taking morning language and culture classes, followed by afternoon excursions to a variety of local attractions.

Following an enthusiastic airport welcome by their host families on Monday evening, they enjoyed an action-packed Tuesday, which included tours of the Media police and fire stations.

Afternoon shoppers on State Street might have seen teens bearing clipboards trying to find out answers to questions such as, “What is playing at the ?” “Does sell bread?” “Ask someone inside Ten Thousand Villages what Fair Trade means,” and “Where does the trolley go?” Successful hunters were rewarded with ice cream at .

They rejoined their host families for an evening swim party at the , and will be spending Independence Day enjoying a variety of all-American celebrations.
