Ardmore Presbyterian Church and Preschool

The Delaware County Youth Orchestras will hold auditions for the 2026-2027 season on Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Thursday, May 21, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. at the Ardmore Presbyterian Church. To sign up to audition go to auditions@DCYO.org and check the requirements for each ensemble.
Our Spring concert, which will include performances by each of our 3 ensembles will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at the Temple University Performing Arts Center, 1837 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122. Admission is free. Donations are welcome. This venue is handicapped accessible.

The Rose Tree Pops Orchestra is presenting our Spring Concert on Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 p.m. at the Delaware County Christian School, 462 Malin Road, Newtown Square, PA. Our theme is the celebration of American composers, in honor of America’s 250 Anniversary.&nbsp; This upbeat and family friendly concert will include selections such as American Salute, An American in Paris and a Tribute to John Williams, including several familiar movie and show tunes. This concert will also feature the Rose Tree Pops Youth Competition Soloist winner Ruffini Tang, playing excerpts from Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major. A lot of my group class students expressed an interest in taking a music theory class, so starting June 15th, I will be offering just that! This class is for anyone who wants to learn more about topics such as how chords get their names, what exactly are keys, and why should I learn scales? Although this class is geared toward guitar players, any instrumentalist is welcome to join. We’ll cover the basics such as the names of the notes, the major scale formula, and how the basic chords are constructed from the notes in the key. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the material. This class will run for 6 sessions on Mondays at 7:30pm – 8:30 from June 15th through July 27th. No class will be held on July 13th. Sale items include hardback, paperback and coffee table books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, puzzles, games, sheet music, and vintage &amp; ephemera items.
This is a well-organized sale with all items sorted into categories. The books are stored on shelves (not in boxes) in our 4,000 square-foot shopping area and are categorized into fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi/horror, teen literature, and children’s. Fiction is alphabetized by author. Non-fiction is categorized by subject. 
Sale prices are:
<ul><li>Saturday: Most items are priced at $3 (or as marked)</li><li>Sunday: “½ Price Day” - Most items are priced at $1.50</li><li>Monday: “Bag Sale” day - $5 for a grocery store-sized bag</li></ul>

I teach electric and acoustic guitar lessons in person close to Springfield and Swarthmore. I have been teaching guitar for over 30 years and have experience teaching all ages of students. I also perform with my classic rock band The Garage Bandits most weekends and can help students get comfortable playing in front of other people. This class will run for 6 sessions over the course of 7 weeks on Mondays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Each week I will introduce slightly more complicated melodies that will help develop students' ability to play single note melodies on the guitar.
