Delaware County's 50th annual <a href="https://www.delcopa.gov/parks/festival-lights" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Festival of Lights</a> in Rose Tree Park opens on Thursday, December 4, at 5:00 PM.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony features a welcome from County Council, seasonal songs by the Springton Lake Middle School 7th &amp; 8th Grade Select Choir, and the arrival of Santa. 
Everyone's invited to join in the crowd countdown to the illumination of the trees, walk in the winter wonderland, and enjoy Delco's Fare &amp; Flair festivities: The food and beverage trucks, local vendors, and DJ keep the party atmosphere going until 8:30.

The Delaware County Youth Orchestras will hold auditions for the 2026-2027 season on Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Thursday, May 21, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. at the Ardmore Presbyterian Church. The Rose Tree Pops Orchestra is presenting our Spring Concert on Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 p.m. at the Delaware County Christian School, 462 Malin Road, Newtown Square, PA. Our theme is the celebration of American composers, in honor of America’s 250 Anniversary.&nbsp; This upbeat and family friendly concert will include selections such as American Salute, An American in Paris and a Tribute to John Williams, including several familiar movie and show tunes. This concert will also feature the Rose Tree Pops Youth Competition Soloist winner Ruffini Tang, playing excerpts from Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major. Delco Guitar Studios

A lot of my group class students expressed an interest in taking a music theory class, so starting June 15th, I will be offering just that! This class is for anyone who wants to learn more about topics such as how chords get their names, what exactly are keys, and why should I learn scales? Although this class is geared toward guitar players, any instrumentalist is welcome to join. We’ll cover the basics such as the names of the notes, the major scale formula, and how the basic chords are constructed from the notes in the key. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the material. This class will run for 6 sessions on Mondays at 7:30pm – 8:30 from June 15th through July 27th. No class will be held on July 13th. I teach electric and acoustic guitar lessons in person close to Springfield and Swarthmore. I have been teaching guitar for over 30 years and have experience teaching all ages of students. I also perform with my classic rock band The Garage Bandits most weekends and can help students get comfortable playing in front of other people. My teaching space is located at 34 Yale Avenue, Morton, PA. Contact me for more information or to set up a free trial lesson! I will be starting a new group guitar class on April 20th! This class will run for 6 sessions over the course of 7 weeks on Mondays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The focus of this class will be on teaching song melodies to beginners, such as Ode To Joy by Beethoven and Happy Birthday. Each week I will introduce slightly more complicated melodies that will help develop students' ability to play single note melodies on the guitar.
