CASA Hosting Children & Youth Needs Drive

Personal Care Supplies Drive will Help Meet Basic Needs of Children & Youth at Risk

MEDIA – CASA Youth Advocates of Delaware & Chester Counties, a child advocacy organization serving at-risk children and youth, is holding a Children & Youth Needs Drive and Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service Activity. The organization provides services to abused and neglected children in Chester and Delaware counties.

Youth in foster care are often not provided with brand name or other products designed to meet their unique cultural skin and hair types. CASA is working to change that. They are running a drive to collect health and beauty care items for the children and youth served by the child welfare community of Delaware and Chester counties. Items will be collected until January 15th, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, when volunteer supporters will gather and sort the items and then distribute care packages to the youth.

Volunteers interested in sorting donations are encouraged to contact Tamara Wilson at 610-565-2208 ext. 111 to confirm that space is available.

“Our Needs Drive is designed to help fill the gaps and provide essential personal care items that children and youth in foster care do not always receive,” says Tamara Wilson, CASA’s Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. “These products will help these children and youth care for their skin and hair with products that meet their unique beauty and personal care needs”

Suggested items to donate to the drive may be found on an Amazon wish list: https://tinyurl.com/3r2h9fff
