Coldwell Banker Preferred Donates Furniture to Historical Society

Middletown Township Historical Society Receives Furniture Donation from Local Real Estate Office

Coldwell Banker Preferred in Media, a leading real estate office, recently gave back to the community with a donation of office furniture to the Middletown Township Historical Society.

The historical society is a local nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission is to research and preserve artifacts and the history of Middletown Township in Delaware County. The furniture, which includes three lateral filing cabinets and a reception desk, will be used in the new community center being established by the township at the former Roosevelt Elementary School, located on Old Middletown Road.

“We were thrilled that we could help the historical society by making this donation,” said Tony DeCicci, branch vice president of the Media office of Coldwell Banker Preferred. “Any time we can help someone or an organization in the community, we are glad to do so. It makes us proud that these items will be put to good use.”

The historical society was first organized in 1982 in anticipation of the 300th anniversary of Middletown Township in 1986 and then disbanded in the early 1990s. The organization has been operating since it was reestablished in 2009 in anticipation of the township’s 325th anniversary in 2011.

“Coldwell Banker Preferred’s furniture donation will enable us to get a great start at our new home,” noted Susan Mescanti, president of the Middletown Township Historical Society. “We rely solely on donations and membership dues to fund our organization and these items will be put to good use in the lobby of our office space at the new community center.”
