Community Rallies For Media Man's Family After Tree Crushes Car

MEDIA, PA — A tragic incident left a Media man dead, but his family lives on thanks to his quick thinking to keep them safe.

Zac Kravatz, 36, of Media, died Aug. 22 when a tree fell on the car he and his family were riding in.

Kravatz and his wife Jenna Corbett were on their way home with their sons Jackson and Porter from a weekend visiting family.

While driving, a tree started falling toward their car and Kravatz was able to maneuver the car in to keep his family safe.

However, he took the brunt of the impact and died. His family was not harmed.

Now, the community has rallied around the family through a GoFundMe campaign.

In just three days' time, nearly 600 people have raised more than $50,00o of a $55,000 goal.

"It is with that in mind that we are asking for support for Zac's family so that he may be laid to rest with his son, Cooper, and to help keep Jenna and the boys on their feet as they transition into this new normal," the GoFundMe campaign reads.

Visitation for Kravatz is from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the Nolan Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Avenue, in Aston.

The Funeral will be held at noon Aug. 27 at the funeral home.

Graveside service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, 28 Hurd St., Mine Hill, New Jersey.
