Credit Cards Stolen In Maryland, Delaware Used In Media: Police

He used stolen credit cards from Maryland and Delaware assisted living facilities at various Delaware County locations, authorities said.

MEDIA, PA – A man who stole credit cards from assisted living facilities in Maryland and Delaware reportedly used the cards in Media and other Delaware County locations, according to Media Police.

Police said they learned of the stolen credit card use after being contacted by the Harford County,
Maryland Sheriff's Department, who are investigating a burglary at a Bel Air, Maryland assisted living facility that occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on Friday, July 28.

The suspect also stole jewelry, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department said the suspect used the cards Upper Darby and Glenolden, as well.

The suspect is also believed to be connected to a similar crime at an assisted living facility in Wilmington, Delaware that occurred Saturday, July 1. In that incident, the suspect followed a woman inside around 3 p.m. then stole jewelry, cash, credit cards and keepsakes from unlocked rooms, according to Delaware State Police.

When he entered rooms that were occupied, the suspect identified himself as a flower delivery person and as an employee, Delaware police said in a statement.

The suspect is described as a black male 45 to 50 years old who is 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall; and wore dark work-style pants, brown Sperry shoes and a tan ball cap with Velcro patches on the front and back during the burglary. He was also driving a small white car, authorities said.
