Delaware County Park Police Officer Dies While On Duty
Patrolman Joseph Montgomery joined the park police in August last year after more than 30 years as a paradmedic and firefighter.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA β A member of the Delaware County Park Police Department died suddenly while on duty over the weekend, according to authorities.
Patrolman Joseph Montgomery died from natural causes on Friday, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.
Montgomery joined Delaware County Park Police in August 2022.

Before that, he spent more than 30 years serving as a paramedic with the Riddle Memorial Hospital and the Mainline Health System, as well as the Fire Chief of Edgmont Fire Company.
"Patrolman Montgomery was the department CPR/AED Instructor and a knowledgeable resource for many of our department's medical needs, the department said on social media. "Many of the people who knew or encountered Patrolman Montgomery can tell you that his charismatic smile and his knowledge of the emergency services field was second to none."

Montgomery was transferred from the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office to Nolan Fidale Funeral Home in Aston Sunday.
