Delaware County Symphony Visits Media-Upper Providence Library

The Delaware County Symphony in collaboration with the Media-Upper Providence Free Library invite all families to a free Instrument Petting Zoo for children. Nine classically trained musicians will explain and demonstrate to the children how their specific instruments: Flute, Violin, Viola, Bassoon, Cello, Oboe, French Horn, Bass, and Clarinet, individually sound and are uniquely used in classical music to make a full symphonic sound. The program will conclude with an ensemble performance of a popular composition so the children may hear the sounds of the instruments performing together. Children and parents are then encouraged to then mingle with the musicians to ask questions and see the instruments up close. Saturday, May 19 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm in the upper level community room. The program is free and open to the public.
