Ny'Leek Ellison, 8, gain supporters across the nation after a hit-and-run crash left him paralyzed and fighting for his life.

CHESTER, PA β€” A Chester boy who died more than a year after a crash left him paralyzed is being remembered for beating the odds throughout his life.

Ny'Leek Ellison, 8, died Thursday at Nemours Dupont Children's Hospital. In February 2025, a driver struck Ny'Leek after he got off a SEPTA bus in Chester on his way to school.

The incident left Ny'Leek quadriplegic with fractures across his body. His fight for life generated support from across the country, according to a GoFundMe raising money for his funeral services.

"Ny'Leek touched the hearts of supporters across the country by showing his Spidey strength and resilience after being left as a quadriplegic at the age of 8 years old, as the result of a hit-and-run accident in Chester, Pennsylvania," the GoFundMe says.

Ny'Leek had a rough medical childhood, but he beat the odds and received a clean bill of health just months before the hit-and-run, according to the GoFundMe.

The driver was later sentenced to 4.5 years to 9 years in prison.

The crash left Ny'Leek fighting for his life, and he remained in critical condition long after, according to his family.
