Empirical Embrace Counseling offers therapy services for those struggling with issues such as eating disorders, body image dissatisfaction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief disorders, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. We offer a variety of evidence-based treatment models such as CBT, CBT-e, ERP, PE, etc. At EEC, the single most important thing is the relationship we share with each individual client - which is why rapport building is always the first goal. If you are going to trust us with these treatments, we want you to trust us as human beings too. I teach electric and acoustic guitar lessons in person close to Springfield and Swarthmore. I have been teaching guitar for over 30 years and have experience teaching all ages of students. I also perform with my classic rock band The Garage Bandits most weekends and can help students get comfortable playing in front of other people. This class will run for 6 sessions over the course of 7 weeks on Mondays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The focus of this class will be on teaching song melodies to beginners, such as Ode To Joy by Beethoven and Happy Birthday. Each week I will introduce slightly more complicated melodies that will help develop students' ability to play single note melodies on the guitar.

The Springfield GIANT grocery store's pharmacy will offer free screenings form 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 29. Whether you need a blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, or other screenings, the GIANT pharmacy will help you get tests for your health needs. Not only will you be able to get free screenings, GIANT pharmacists can help determine if you are missing any recommended adult vaccinations. SISTERHOOD OF THE ROSE: Chants for the Divine Mother

This event will be filmed live for inclusion in Jen Chapin's upcoming movie. Limited seating is still available..Jen Chapin has been celebrated for writing “brilliant soulfully poetic urban folk music” by NPR and has spent more than two decades creating songs that are observant, emotionally intuitive, politically aware, and deeply human.
Raised in and around New York City in a family of artists, writers, and musicians, Jen brings a rich creative legacy to her work. Her music blends urban folk, jazz, soul, and storytelling, carried by what critics have called her extraordinary voice and the dynamic musicianship of her band.
Her career has included appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, NPR’s Mountain Stage, WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, WFUV’s Sunday Breakfast with John Platt, and the Bob Edwards Show on Sirius Satellite. She has performed on stage with Bruce Springsteen and shared bills with Aimee Mann, Bruce Hornsby, and The Neville Brothers.
Jen is also deeply connected to activism and community work through her ongoing involvement with WhyHunger, the organization founded by her late father, Harry Chapin. Her songs often reflect that same commitment to justice, family, history, and the world around us.
For this performance, Jen Chapin will be joined by GRAMMY-nominated bassist Stephan Crump and acclaimed electric guitarist Jamie Fox for a cabaret-style evening of urban folk songs titled Anything Goes, and How Did We Get Here? The two-set show weaves historically informed, jazz-inspired questions about our current moment with selections from Jen’s critically acclaimed catalog.

Opening the evening is Lucy Rellosa, winner of the 2025 Havertown Voice. At just 15 years old, Lucy has been playing music since age four and has performed locally and regionally as both a soloist and in a duet with her sister, including appearances at the Delco Gives Telethon and Haverford First Fest. Through years of studying violin, guitar, and voice, she has developed her skills as a singer-songwriter and composes her own original music.

Advance ticket sales close at 5:00 PM on the day of the show. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
BYOB is welcome for an additional $5 donation per drinker. Disposable cups and ice are provided.
Free parking is available in the Oakmont Municipal Lot behind the Kelly Center off Darby Road after 6:00 PM. Additional free parking is available courtesy of Grace Chapel at the corner of Eagle and Darby Roads.

Join The Savoy Company in celebrating our 125th anniversary year with Gilbert &amp; Sullivan’s uplifting operetta,&nbsp;The Gondoliers!&nbsp;in the Open Air Theatre at Longwood Gardens. Set in Venice and the fictional kingdom of Barataria, the plot centers on two gondoliers, Marco and Giuseppe, who discover that one of them is the rightful king but cannot determine which. They agree to rule jointly until the true monarch can be identified, allowing Gilbert to satirize monarchy, aristocracy, and British political institutions. The show is especially noted for its unusually warm tone and emphasis on equality, reflecting contemporary late-Victorian debates about class and governance.
Through its witty dialogue, lively ensemble numbers, and playful mockery of aristocracy and political systems, the operetta celebrates equality while poking fun at rigid class distinctions and the pretensions of monarchy.
Premiered in 1889, The Gondoliers is the twelfth collaboration between librettist W.S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. The show ran for 554 performances, making it one of the duo’s most successful later works.
Introducing Stage Director Grant Mech and Choreographer Rebecca Malcolm-Naib, whose inventive vision brings The Gondoliers to life in a masterful comedy that sparkles under the outstanding baton of Music Director Peter Hilliard and a superb professional orchestra. Produced by William Kader, the production is enhanced by a striking, professionally designed set and delightfully charming costumes.

We are honored to gather under the second Flower Moon in May, a time of deep reflection, renewal, and transformation. Chanting in this lunar field can be profoundly healing, expansive, and grounding. We are especially excited to welcome back our dear friend and soul sister, Yvette Om.
For this special gathering, we are also honored to welcome multi-instrumentalist Martin Orimenko, helping to create a rich and immersive sound journey of music and mantra.
We invite you into a heart-opening experience of chant, mantra, meditation, and community. Participants are welcome to sing, listen, meditate, or simply rest in the shared vibration of sound and connection.
