Delco Lawyer Filmed Underage People Having Sex: DA

Patrick Lomax, a prominent Delaware County attorney, is accused of using hidden cameras to film his domestic partner's son having sex.

MEDIA, PA — A prominent Delaware County attorney is facing child pornography-related charges after authorities said he set up hidden cameras to film underage people having sex, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said Patrick Francis Lomax, 42, of Media, has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography and related offenses.

Charges filed against Lomax, a criminal defense attorney, are nine counts each of child pornography, criminal use of a communication facility, invasion of privacy, and related crimes.

According to Stollsteimer, Lomax set up two hidden cameras in the bedroom of his domestic partner's son to record him and others having sex.

The victim came forward to police Jan. 22 and presented them with three cameras and two camera cards. The victim discovered two cameras in his bedroom, one hidden by a baseball mitt and one by a video came console, according to authorities.

One of the camera cards had footage of the victim and others having sex in the bedroom, the DA's office said.

Authorities said the cameras were hidden there in November 2019.

Authorities said the victim's uncle was in possession of one of the two camera cards in question and the victim asked his uncle to review the card's footage after discovering the cameras. The uncle told the victim there was footage of him having sex and also that Lomax was seen on video setting up the camera, according to the DA's office.

County law enforcement got a search warrant for Lomax's home and found more footage of the victim and others, authorities said.

The DA's office said there are nine victims in total, three of which are still under 18 years old.

The cameras found by the victim were placed in the room November 2019. However, authorities said they located similar video footage dating as far back as 2015. Prosecutors said they believe Lomax made the videos for himself, not for sharing.

The victim's mother, Lomax's domestic partner, did not know about the cameras, the DA's office said.

Lomax was arraigned Monday morning and was held after failing to post $150,000 bail.

He is scheduled for a Feb. 24 preliminary hearing, court records show.

Lomax pleaded no contest to a harassment charge that stemmed from a December 2016 incident in which he was accused of accosting a client inside the Delaware County Courthouse, according to court records. Simple assault and disorderly conduct charges filed in that case were dismissed.

He was sentenced to probation and was ordered to pay $2,000 restitution to the victim, court documents show.
