Delco Man Gets 90 Years For Child Porn
The Aston man made sexually explicit photos of his friend's 7-year-old daughter after abusing her in their own home, authorities said.

A Delaware County man will spend 90 years in a federal prison cell for taking sexually-explicit photos of his childhood friend's 7-year-old daughter, as well as for sending, receiving, and possessing child pornography, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.
Matthew "Uncle Matt" Maffei, 43, of Aston, was handed his sentence Tuesday, Jan. 16, the DA's office said.
The 90-year sentence is the statutory maximum sentence, according to the DA's office.

Not only will Maffei likely live out his remaining days in a cell, he was sentenced to lifetime supervised release, a $20,000 assessment pursuant to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, $5,000 in restitution, and a $400 special assessment by the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg, USDJ in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Maffei, a first time offender, previously pleaded guilty to all charges in the federal indictment, according to the DA's office.

He was charged in August 2016 after investigators discovered he sexually abused the 7-year old child in the victim’s own home, as her parents slept in the next bedroom, the DA's office said. Authorities said he also defecated on the victim's face.
He also forced the victim's 5-year-old brother to watch the abuse of the other child on one occasion, and then threatened to kill both children if they told their parents what he did, according to the DA's office.
The court called the acts "unspeakable" and imposed the 90-year sentence to ensure Maffei "will never in this lifetime be released from custody."
Maffei also was found to be in possession of a flash drive that contained images of the victim and sexually explicit images of children under 18 years old.
The case was investigated by the FBI in conjunction with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC), as well as the Middletown Township, Delaware Police Department.
It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella.
