Delco Students Earn Dunkin' Donuts Scholarships​

Congratulations to Mark Oliveti and Sara Danenhower!

Two students attending Delaware County public schools recently earned scholarships, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts, the company announced.

Dunkin’ Donuts of Philadelphia, in partnership with Scholarship America, recently announced the recipients of its eighth annual regional Scholarship Program, which helps high school seniors in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Kent and New Castle counties in Delaware pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at an institution of their choice.

Mark Oliveti, of Springfield and a Springfield High School student, as well as Broomall's Sara Danenhower who attends Marple Newtown High School, earned scholarships through the program.

“On behalf of Dunkin’ Donuts, I am honored to award these exceptional students with the 2017 Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship Award,” said Perry Shah, local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and Philadelphia region advertising committee chairman. “This program is very special to us at Dunkin’ Donuts and we are amazed at the incredible nominations we receive year after year. The 25 recipients of this year’s scholarship are truly deserving of this award, and we are so excited to see all of the amazing things these students will be able to accomplish in the future.”

Twenty-five students, out of a pool of 1,60,0 were chosen to receive a $2,000 academic scholarship to an accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school of their choice.

Recipients were selected based on their academic record, demonstrated leadership skills, and overall commitment to their school and local community.

The 2017 Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship Award recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5 at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester.

Honorees and their families will also be invited to attend the Philadelphia Union match against FC Dallas immediately following the ceremony.
