Delco Woman Sold 9 Guns On The Street: DA's Office
Five of the nine guns sold illegally on the street were used in felony crimes, the DA's office said.
A Delaware County woman is behind bars after allegedly selling guns illegally on the streets, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's office. Vikki Towns-Perez faces a minimum five year mandatory sentence if convicted of at least two charges under the Brad Fox Law.
According to the DA's office, Towns-Perez faces nine felony counts each of firearm ownership and providing false information, firearm ownership and duty of another person, and tampering with public records. She is also charged with proving false reports, false statements to law enforcement, and related charges, the DA's office said.
Towns-Perez, 35, of Chester, is accused of buying nine handguns between February 2012 and May 2013 for her nephew, who she knew to be a convicted felon, the DA's office said.

She allegedly purchased guns described by her nephew, who would give her cash to buy guns and pay her $150 to $200 for each purchase, the DA's office said.
Authorities said five of the nine straw purchase guns have been recovered by police and all five were used in felony crimes. Four people were arrested in connection with the straw purchase guns, the DA's office said.

Of the nine guns that were straw purchased, five have been recovered by authorities, all of which were
used in felony crimes, the DA's office said.

"We know that the vast majority of the illegal guns on the streets used for violence and crime are a result
of straw purchases," Delco District Attorney Jack Whelan said Wednesday. "In the case of Vikki Towns-Perez, she purchased these guns without any regard for the law, knowingly giving them to an individual she
believed to be a criminal."
Towns-Perez is being held at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post $10,000 bail, according to the DA's office.
The Delaware County DA's Office has convicted five people of straw purchases under the Brad Fox Law since 2014.
