Though you need to do something consistently, in terms of training , to get any meaningful results don't get so locked in to one mode of exercise/movement to the exclusion of all others. There is no one mode of training or one tool that is a be all and end all.
So trying new things and moving in different ways is a good thing as long as you don't just jump around with no consistency or theme to what you're doing be it strength training, cardio training or pursuit of outdoor activities.
