Electoral College Essay Contest

Glenwood 5th Grade Students Take Second Place

Miss Rachel Pinsley’s class from Glenwood Elementary school takes second place in
an essay contest about the Electoral College. They worked as a class to write and edit
the original essay that earned them a place in the top ten. Then, they brainstormed
ideas for the presentation and decided upon a newscast. They worked in groups to write
the script and volunteered to bring in appropriate clothes to wear for the filming. Then,
10 of our classmates volunteered to be up on the stage in front of 4 other classes and
the four judges. Kudos to all those brave kids! All of their efforts resulted in a free trip to
the Constitution Center, a $500 check for Glenwood, and a day we will never forget! We
are so proud of them!
