Join us as we explore this popular romantic comedy dating from the 1590s.
Midsummer Nights Dream is one of the most produced Shakespeare’s plays for stage. Filled with fantastic characters, the play takes a combination of four Athenian lovers, the Duke and Duchess of Athens, a group of comically amateur actors and fairies then mixes them together on one midsummer’s night under the moon.
We will read and discuss the play be watching both the 1935 film with Olivia de Havilland and James Cagney and the 1968 version with Helen Mirren as Hermia.
