Four Penncrest Students are Named Semifinalist in National Merit Scholarship Program

Less than 1% of High School Seniors Qualify

Congratulations to Cole Gaboriault, Benjamin Knower, Matthew Tang, and Liam Theveny for being named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. Good luck as you move forward in the competition to reach Finalist status with the chance to earn a National Merit Scholarship!
