Garbage Worker Dies After Being Hit By Trash Truck In Delco

A sanitation worker died after a trash struck him in Ridley Park Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

RIDLEY PARK, PA — A sanitation worker died after an incident involving a trash truck in Delaware County.

According to Ridley Park Police, emergency responders were called to 200 block of West Hinckley Avenue at about 11:44 a.m. for a report of vehicle entrapment.

Responders found a 30-year-old man had been struck by the truck he was working on.

Police said the man died from the incident.

According to police, the man was working for a company subcontracted to remove trash for the municipality.

Police said medical personnel, crash investigators and OSHA responded to the scene to coordinate an investigation of the incident.
