Get Out: Bunnyland, 2nd Saturday, Restaurant Week

Check out these picks for things to do this weekend in the greater Media Patch area.

It’s Thursday, so it’s time to think about the weekend plans. Spring is getting into full swing, and hopefully that means nice, sunny days and mild evenings for outdoor activities. Linvilla Orchards’ special Easter activities kick off this weekend. The 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll will keep you busy throughout the evening. And if you’re hungry for pancakes, we have just the place for you. Media Patch dishes out some fun things to do this weekend.

 

1. Hayrides to Bunnyland

Where/When: , Sat. and Sun., April 9 and 10, and Sat. through Sat., April 16 through April 23; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Hop into the Easter spirit, and take the kids on a hayride through the woods to visit the Easter Bunny’s house. There will be special treats given to each visitor by the Easter Bunny. Your children can also take a pony ride, train ride, or have his or her face painted. There will be Easter flowers, baskets and candy, plus baby chicks and other baby animals on display.

Pricing: $8 per person

 

2. 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll

Where/When: Downtown Media; 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go: Grab a bite to eat at one of Media’s many restaurants, while enjoying the art, live music and evening shopping along State Street. Check out M.A.C.’s Web site for a map and full rundown of events. The main act, R3Band, will perform at the . has music from the Jollies, and Charlie Phillips will play at Seven Stones Café.

Pricing: Free

 

3. Annual Pancake Day

Where/When: ; Sat., April 9 from 8 a.m. to Noon

Why Go: Families and friends will start off their day right with a delicious pancake breakfast, hosted by the Rotary Club of Media. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice, tea and fair trade coffee. Proceeds benefit the programs sponsored by the Rotary Club.

Price: $5 for adults, $3 children under 12

 

4. Free Movie Night - Tangled

Where/When: ; Fri., April 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Why Go: Every month, the library hosts a movie night on the big screen. This month’s featured presentation is Tangled, Disney’s animated musical film based largely on the old fairytale, Rapunzel.

Price: Free

 

5. Main Line Restaurant Week

Where/When: Various restaurants (check Web site for participating locations); All weekend

Why Go: Dozens of restaurants across the Main Line and Philly’s western suburbs will offer special, prix-fixed menus showcasing their chefs’ most popular dishes. Menus will feature discounted, three-course dinners. Participating restaurants include Newtown Grill, Teikoku and Harvest Seasonal Grill.

Price: Prices range from $20 to $50 per person
