Grab & Go Kids Planner: Music, Magic, Flowers and St. Patty's Day Parade

Also, don't miss a hilarious magic show on Saturday at the Newtown Square Library or the fun of an afternoon parade in the heart of nearby Springfield.

MAKIN' MUSIC

Where/When: at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Why Go: Gather in a circle and make music led by a warm and enthusiastic teacher in this highly interactive music and movement enrichment program. Makin Music's award-winning family performances are recommended for children ages 6 months to 5 years with their parents.

WORLD OF SONG SPRINGTIME FAMILY CONCERT

Where/When:  at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: Join guitarist Charlie Phillips and children's entertainer Allison DeSalvo of The Creative Living Room in a rousing springtime concert of traditional and original songs. One of many events in Media's  lineup, the interactive program will feature instruments, puppets, art and stories and is geared toward children ages 2 through 8.

GARDEN SPROUTS

Where/When:  at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Why Go: Introduce your child, age 4 or 5, to plants and the garden through stories, crafts and hands-on fun with plants. Plus, after planting peas, beets and cabbage in the ground, your child gets to plant a container to take home.

COMEDY AND MAGIC OF ED SCHMIDT

Why Go: Be amazed and amused at this family-friendly comedy and magic show rolled into one. All ages are welcome.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

Where/When: Parade starts at West Springfield Road and Britton Road at noon on Saturday. Reviewing stand is in front of Old Central School on Saxer Ave.
Why Go: Put on your green and celebrate St. Patrick's Day by waving, running for thrown candy and watching a procession of high school marching bands, string bands, civic and community groups. Musicians and Irish step dancers will also provide pre-parade entertainment at the reviewing stand.

FAMILY NIGHT AT THE PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW

Where/When: Pennsylvania Convention Center Family Lounge from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Why Go: Be transported to elegant and romantic scenes of Paris through world-class presentations of Parisian parks, gardens and attractions in full bloom. Then visit the family lounge for garden crafts, face painting, a photo station and more, and watch as French singer Ruthanne Emilene Ankney performs with marionettes.
Pricing: Free with admission.
