Holy Family RCS Teacher Honored at Delaware County Gala

Mr. Edward Heinemann, 7th and 8th grade teacher at Holy Family Regional Catholic School in Aston, PA is being honored on April 5th.

Holy Family Regional Catholic School is proud to congratulate our seventh and eighth grade teacher, Mr. Edward Heinemann. Mr. Heinemann will be honored on Wednesday, April 5th at the Foundation for Catholic Education and the Delaware County Advisory Council’s 3rd Annual Hall of Fame Gala for his commitment and dedication to Catholic Education. Mr. Heinemann has been an educator in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 23 years. He has taught at St. Clement-Irenaeus School, St. George School, St. Madeleine School, St. Joseph School, and Holy Family Regional Catholic School.

Mr. Heinemann was in the navy for four years after graduating college. During that time, he traveled all over the world including Japan, Australia, and Africa. His years of traveling inspired his love of geography that he shares with his students each year.

Mr. Heinemann teaches students to think outside of the box. One of his favorite sayings is “It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness” by Eleanor Roosevelt. Mr. Heinemann always encourages his students to find a different solution when faced with a challenge. According to one of his students, “Mr. Heinemann taught us that asking for help is always an option.” Another student stated, “Mr. Heinemann has made me work hard and learn from my mistakes. He’s made me realize that to be successful I need to work hard.”

Our school purchased Lego EV3 Mindstorms this year and Mr. Heinemann has worked tirelessly to incorporate Robotics lessons into his curriculum. Both the seventh and eighth grade students have enjoyed exploring this facet of science. Many students continue to work on their robots outside of class time. His excitement for the material is contagious!

We at Holy Family are constantly inspired by Mr. Heinemann’s creativity and enthusiasm for the subject matter he teaches to his students. Mr. Heinemann is truly an invaluable asset to the Holy Family School community and we look forward to celebrating this honor with him.
