Ice Sculpting, Games, Beer, More Coming To State Street This Weekend

The first-ever Ice on State will be held Saturday and Sunday in Media. The day will feature music, crafts, live ice carving, and much more.

MEDIA, PA — The first-ever Ice on State is bringing ice sculptures, beer, crafts, games, and more to downtown Media this weekend.

Ice on Skate will begin at noon Saturday and run through Sunday.

The fun begins with live carving of the iconic "Everybody’s Hometown" design near the clock tower at State and Plum streets.

Artists from the Ice Sculpture Philly company will create custom ice sculptures, sponsored by local businesses and organizations.

Dozens of sculptures will be featured throughout the State Street District in downtown Media for the weekend.

Attendees can take a picture with the "I Love Media" sculpture or a giant polar bear sponsored by Media Real Estate.

Cornhole on boards made from ice will be set up, as well. The boards are sponsored by The Towne House.

The live carving of a baby grand piano will also take place at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Plum Street Mall, sponsored by Morris Brothers Investments.

Live music will be provided by the Media Arts Council which will also host a hospitality tent, serving beer by 2SP Brewing Company, hot chocolate, and adult beverage concoctions from Bluebird Distillery.

Pose with popular movie ice princesses from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday while the kids peek through a special snowflake sculpture, then head over to homesewn for a free make-it-take-it craft from 1 p.m. to 3 p.n. on Sunday.
